Most of my weddings this year at St Regis were at Club 19 which is unusual, it’s normally a mix of all 4 of the ballroom/reception areas they have. So my St Regis couples for 2011 were loving the more intimate ceremony site of the Botanical Garden area and the views/atmosphere of Club 19, yet having the benefit of being part of a 5 star/5 diamond hotel and the amenities/services that go along with that. This area is great for celebrations of 20-130, 8-100 being the perfect size to maximise the use of the area.
However in saying that, one of my couples wanted the intimacy and Italian feel of the Botanical Garden for their ceremony with the lovely backdrop of golf greens and ocean, but wanted the more formal feel of a ballroom, but with only 80 guest didn’t want the portion of Monarch Ballroom they had booked to feel cold/large etc, so above what you see is what amber lighting, and renting some trees can do to create that warm feel for a small group in a large ballroom. Her theme of butterflies also meant the hotels normal banquet chairs which are dark brown with a gold butterfly on the back and the hotels champagne linens were able to be used to help create this warm feel and compliment her theme.
